How (not) to get Sky Broadband
I decided to investigate sky’s “free broadband for Sky TV customers” last night. Turns out it’s a pretty good deal. The basic one is free and is higher spec than what I use now (allbeit with a low limit on it) but even their top package is half the price of pipex (my current ISP).
The catch is that they aren’t offering it in my area for another 6 months. They can, however, offer me another service which is still more than double what I’m on now, at a slightly lower price. Yet another catch then appears. Although they state that they can provide this alternate service, there is no telephone number to call, no website to visit, no form to fill in, nothing!
“We’d like to offer you this great product until our main product is available. But we’re not going to tell you how to get it!”
Rather irritating.
