Pain in the neck
Church was great yesterday. We had a church picnic after the service which due to the thick fog and rain, was held inside the school hall where we meet in Woodingdean.
I knew it was going to be fun when at five minutes to 12 the Pastor said “We need to end the service now as the bouncy castle has just arrived”. Given that I’m 23 years old and 13 stone(ish) there was obviously no way I would be getting on it though.
So shortly after eating lunch, there I was pushing four and five year olds out of the way so that I could attempt the ultimate death defying stunt – a backflip. Needless to say I failed miserably, landing on my head and nearly killing myself (much to young Stevie‘s amusement). It’s been interesting at work this morning being questioned about my painful neck. It’s funny how sympathy vanishes when you give the explanation “It was a bouncy castle related incident”.
Later in the evening we had some of the Youth church around to our flat and we all watched Monty Python’s Quest For The Holy Grail. All that is except for Jason who vanished into my study and didn’t reappear until several hours later. It appeared that a reasonably good time was had by all, especially Stevie who seemed to laugh uncontrollably all the way through the film.
On a different note, I have a message for Adam Buxton. POST MORE OFTEN. You’re a very funny man, and I love reading your blog and watching your videos, but really why do you make me wait for weeks to hear of your amusing adventures? I need entertaining. My lunch breaks don’t fill themselves you know!
I also heard from my old school friend James the other day. It was good to catch up and hear about his career movements etc. You can find a link to his website /blog type thing on the blogroll to the right of this page.
Crikey, that was a long post by my standards…
