A Long Rabbit
First off, an apology.
It’s been a week since I last blogged, and even that one wasn’t very exciting. The reason for this is I’ve been off work ill and did not feel good enough to sit at my PC (else I could’ve done that at work). In any case, the fact I was ill meant I hadn’t left the flat and so I had nothing to blog about except daytime TV. I didn’t even watch much of that either.
It was my Grandad’s 80th birthday this last weekend, so still feeling rough, I plonked myself into the car friday evening and Sarah drove us back to Southampton. It was also Sarah’s dad’s birthday, so saturday we had lunch at a lovely pub in the new forest called the trusty servant. Then the rest of the day was setting up, and then having Grandad’s birthday party.
There’s a certain stigma about family partys that they are always a chore and nobody actually enjoys themselves, but this party was genuinely fun. I caught up with lots of family I haven’t seen for the best part of 5 years, and only paid for one drink the whole evening.
We helped pack up after the party and then dropped my Grandparents home at around midnight. We’d already decided we wanted to be home for church on Sunday, so from there we came back to Sussex and finally got to bed at around 2:15.
I managed to keep my eyes open for church in the morning, and then in the afternoon we had a very exciting trip to argos and asda.
That was a lie actually, it wasn’t exciting at all.
At argos we bought a new TV stand as I was fed up of not being able to get to the cables behind all my AV equipment. So the afternoon was then spent constructing said unit, and reassembling the TV and things.
In the evening we had 14:29 (youth church) but luckily we’d arranged for the kids to do pretty much the whole evening themselves so Sarah, Phil and I didn’t need to do much. I did play guitar for some of the music, but I didn’t have to lead it so all was good.
After that we wen’t to see my friend Gavin, who I work with, at a gig he was playing at the Pavillion Tavern in Brighton. He was really good, as were the rest of his band who Phil turned out to know most of. It was a really good evening. Keep you eye on Gavin’s myspace. If He ever plays near you then make sure you go cos he rocks!
On wednesday we’ve agreed to go to some bar with a weird name like joogleberries or something with our friends Rob & Ju from church to see a couple of guys with guitar type things doing Flamenco/Arabic Fusion or something that sounds like that.
Tonight I’m going to take it easy because I am knackered. A hot bath followed by food, a film, a bottle of rosé and lots of sleeping are all on the cards.
Wow I’ve rabbited on for ages haven’t I?
