Have I Got Badly Edited News For You

Kermit the Frog. Why not?I watched the repeat of Have I got News For You last night, and being a wannabe editor, I noticed a bit that really bugged me. For those that don’t think about this sort of thing, the game show is actually a lot longer than 30 minutes. They film loads of questions and cut out all the bits where Ian Hislop isn’t funny.

In last nights edition, the editor had got a bit trigger happy. They got to the ‘odd one out’ round where Ian & guest were given a question. They took ages to answer it and then moved on to the next round.
Hang on a minute… This is a contest isn’t it? surely in the interest of fairness, you have to ask both teams the same number of questions! Especially since they were playing on the fact that Ian’s team had loads of points and Paul Merton & Ross Noble had nothing. Of course they’ll have nothing if you don’t actually ask them any questions!
I appreciate that their answer might not have been particularly funny, but the show doesn’t make sense if you miss bits like that.

I don’t know why that bugged me, it just did. It’s off my chest now.

I just noticed that I haven’t put any pictures in my posts for ages, so I’ve put a picture of Kermit the frog on this one for you. :)

    I completely agree with you, that would probably annoy me too.

    Now you mention Kermit, I just looked at MySpace Monkey and he hasn’t been updated with any news recently. Can we expect some news from him sometime?

    shhhhh, no-one’s supposed to know it’s me!
    I’ll pull mt finger out and update him sooner or later. There’s shock news from his friend brittney today, so maybe I’ll use that.

    I noticed the same problem with HIGNFY last night – presented by Damian Lewis. He was actually quite funny, but the round with the 4 pics/odd one out bit, they had edited it so that he explained the answers twice – the second time he’d added a quip in, I think they couldnt decide between the two and hoped no one noticed they put it in twice, but they kinda cut from the game to another subject, and then cut back again. I was left going… ‘so who got the point? which was the odd one out?!’
