The matches are damp…

Last night we put on a fireworks display for the youth section at church (we let the grown ups watch too though) which was great fun. On saturday we went into the fireworks shop with a budget of £100, and made a deal which meant we walked away with £160 worth of goods. I thought that was an achievement. Phil wrote up a risk assesment of the job which was quite funny, and I pointed out that it could never be ‘safe’ for us to be allowed to play with fireworks. Nevertheless we did, and both thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. Neither of us was significantly burned, and the only slight hitch we had was that both lighters and the spare stopped working. but we managed to light a couple of tapers from a match, and we continued to merrily blow things up.

Todays good news is that we were told about our annual pay & bonus reviews at work today. I won’t go into detail, but to give you the general idea, I’m writing this with a big fat grin on my face.
