It’s all go at the moment…

Since my last entry I’ve had my 3rd wedding anniversary, been to Devon for a long weekend, led worship at the main morning service for the first time in our current church, and re-riden the bike route previously marred by injury.

Our anniversary was on August 7th, as it is every year surprisingly enough, so we disappeared off to Beer in Devon for a long weekend where a colleague of mine rented us their static caravan at a significantly reduced rate. The whole photo album is here.
Whilst there we did some bodyboarding both on the first day in Seaton, and the last day in Bournemouth on our way back, but the less common activities on our trip included day boating from Beer beach:

The most interesting sight was probably the grounded Napoli container ship which can just about be seen over Sarah’s left shoulder:

We went on the Seaton – Colyton tramway and ended up returning on a beautifully pink tram

We played a bit of pitch and putt:

and in the only gap in the rain on Monday, enjoyed a BBQ back at the van. While we ate we were given a beautiful rainbow to look out on:

This last Sunday a group of us including myself and my Dad cycled the Woodingdean – Kingston ride once more to help Rob conquer the ride that previously caused him much pain. It was fairly uneventful, although great fun, excpet that Pete hurt himself this time. Though rather less impressively than Rob…

This time, since no major injury had occurred, we also had to make the return journey. We decided it would be easier to return on a different route which I swear was even steeper than the way we came. At one point we couldn’t even push our bikes up the slope, we had to carry them up on our backs!

Despite the nearness to Cardiac arrest, we made it to the top and the views across Lewes and Seaford Head were fabulous. I didn’t have the energy to take a photo at that point I’m afraid.

I’m afraid I’m out of time for rabbiting on. This coming weekend Sarah and I are going to Soul Survivor with the Youth church we help to run. Preparations Must be made!
