A rough guide to cat maintainance
For a long time, Boxer’s claws have been too long. This is because he is a house cat and choses to ignore the scratching post that we so nicely bought him. We’ve been meaning for a while to contact the vet to have them cut, but decided today that we’d save a bit of money and do the job ourselves. Here’s some instructions for those of you who might like to do the same:
- Lay out towel on the sofa
- Place cat on towel
- Fold towel over cat to restrain him
- Put plaster on scratch wound & retrieve cat from windowsill
- Place cat on towel
- Throw out shredded towel
- Rugby tackle cat and keep him in a headlock while you’re partner clips claws using pliers.
- Apply antiseptic to underarm
- Retrieve cat from light fitting
- Entice cat back onto sofa with whiskas treats
- leap from behind sofa landing on cat
- Instruct your partner to clip the claws from the limbs protruding from underneath you
- Release cat
- Seek medical advice regarding deep chest wounds
- Use the vet in future
