The Lakes part 1
I’m following Dogga’s example and splitting this one into installments, since there’s a lot to show and tell.
We went to the Lake district on holiday last week with our friends Owen and Lou. It’s been a while since we’ve been away with anyone else and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The entire photo album can be viewed here.
Though it may not have been quite as exotic as Finland, when we woke up on Easter Sunday it may as well have been:

We started the day off with a hearty Easter themed breakfast:

Then we set off on an 8 mile hike through the snow. It felt like we could have easily been in the alps or something:

Owen found a broken tennis racquet by the road. This amused him.

The sheep were clearly used to this sort of weather:

We did a couple of geocaches one of which was in the nearby village of Troutbeck

While we were there Owen decided that he’d found a small place that he needed to get into. So he did.

I got a bit arty while we were stood in the river

On the way to our second cache of the trip we noticed a lovely pair of cows making faces at us

It was about this point that we were hit by a short lived, but heavy blizzard which made the walk all the more fun. We took in a few more of the awesome views before we headed back

We finished off the snow filled day with a homemade hearty Sunday roast and then mooched in front of a film before heading to the land of nod.
And that was just day one!..
