Today whilst geocaching we parked by Newhaven train station. Our GPS decided we’d gone the wrong way and we should make a U-turn at the next available opportunity.
Helpfully it also suggests when the next oppurtunity might be.
Unhelpfully it suggested our next opportunity would be to board the Newhaven-Dieppe car ferry, disembark the other side to turn round, then come back again.
We decided to turn round where we were.
We also bought a giant mishapen courgette today.

On August 10th Sarah and I took our youth group to Soul Survivor along with a couple of other leaders. we had three thunderstorms and about an hour of sunshine over the time we were there.
I also worked the week as a village host which was cool. It meant I got a free ticket and a warm place to sit for an hour each day during our meetings.
While we were there 7 of our group made a commitment to God. I had an awesome time and it was a real privilege to see the lives of all of us who went changed. I think this is one trip that I, and the rest of our group I hope, will never forget.

The following week I started my new career in IT. I’ve moved all my stuff into the IT dept (where even now my desk hasn’t been delivered!) and have started to learn the ropes. I’ve dealt with spam, system backups and even sorted a few minor helpdesk requests.
I’m gonna love this job.

Sarah went off to Finland on Wednesday which you can read about on her blog. Luckily on Friday church family camp started out near Midhurst so I knew I wouldn’t have to endure my own company for too long. So after work I threw the (still wet from Soul Survivor) camping gear in the car and headed out there. I had a really great time despite night-volleyball & spoons related injuries. Sarah came out to join us on Sunday evening having just flown home.
It was really great to go and spend time with the families from church and particularly to not have a role. That meant I could just kick back and enjoy myself. So thanks to Gareth who organised it and to all the people who made it great, you know who you are.

Thanks to AOJ for hosting this weeks Fun Monday:
“Show me your favourite photograph and tell me why it’s your favourite.
It can be one you’ve taken yourself or one someone else has taken, a snapshot or a more professional image. Is there a story behind it? Do you love it for the memories it gives or just because it’s pleasing to the eye?”
I’m kind of in a rush choosing this one as I’m half way out the door, but as a photographer I’m taking photos all the time & it’s pretty much impossible to choose just one picture. I always think that if you are really into something then it’s really hard to choose a favorite from it. If you’re not so bothered, then it’s easy.
Anyway, I’ve gone for this one which is also the home page of my website. It symbolises a lot for me. Freedom, the power of nature. I can feel the pull of the kite, the wind in my face and the smells of the countryside when I look at it.

Sorry it’s short and sweet. I’d have loved to have spent ages on this one & found my favourite among other people’s, but I’m afraid it’s just not an option this particular week!
We are Sarah is looking after some animals for a friend this week, 3 Gerbils and a hamster if I remember rightly.
Boxer thinks it’s wonderful. Needless to say he’s not allowed in that room when we’re not in there…
