Summary of a fortnight
On August 10th Sarah and I took our youth group to Soul Survivor along with a couple of other leaders. we had three thunderstorms and about an hour of sunshine over the time we were there.
I also worked the week as a village host which was cool. It meant I got a free ticket and a warm place to sit for an hour each day during our meetings.
While we were there 7 of our group made a commitment to God. I had an awesome time and it was a real privilege to see the lives of all of us who went changed. I think this is one trip that I, and the rest of our group I hope, will never forget.

The following week I started my new career in IT. I’ve moved all my stuff into the IT dept (where even now my desk hasn’t been delivered!) and have started to learn the ropes. I’ve dealt with spam, system backups and even sorted a few minor helpdesk requests.
I’m gonna love this job.

Sarah went off to Finland on Wednesday which you can read about on her blog. Luckily on Friday church family camp started out near Midhurst so I knew I wouldn’t have to endure my own company for too long. So after work I threw the (still wet from Soul Survivor) camping gear in the car and headed out there. I had a really great time despite night-volleyball & spoons related injuries. Sarah came out to join us on Sunday evening having just flown home.
It was really great to go and spend time with the families from church and particularly to not have a role. That meant I could just kick back and enjoy myself. So thanks to Gareth who organised it and to all the people who made it great, you know who you are.

Last, but not least, today I took an ‘appointed persons’ course at St John Amubulance, so if you have an accident near me, I’m now qualified to give you emegency first aid!
(I’d suggest you don’t though!)
