The Woolcott Photoshoot

Yesterday we spent the afternoon with some friends from church who had asked me to try my best to take some nice photos of the four kids to give to people. So we spent the afternoon at a couple of nearby locations to do just that.

Their parents have granted permission for me to publish the photos online, but advised me to put a health warning along with it due to their ugliness, so to see the whole album, click the following picture at your own risk:

Walkies

We’ve had a really great Christmas this year. Our Youth group led the Christmas morning church service which went down really well. Us youth leaders performed a skit written by a friend at work.  quite funny. Apparently I should be on the radio with my funny voices.

The rest of the day was just the two of us. Sarah cooked a really nice Christmas dinner

Then we just relaxed the rest of the day. We had a really nice time.

On Boxing day we headed back to Southampton and had lunch with Sarah’s family who were visiting her parents. After that was the annual get together of my Mum’s family. Jollyness occured and we finished up with our 2nd annual Jenga championship. Here’s a 10 minute video that’s of no interest to anyone who wasn’t there:

On Saturday we had my immediate family’s celebrations. It’s the first year that our Niece’s is really conscious of what’s happening, so it was quite fun.

Today we went back to Sarah’s parents and spent the morning playing Mahjong. In the afternoon we took a walk with Sarah’s Dad. He’s recently bought a digital SLR camera, and so we used the opportunity to each take some snaps. Here’s the pick of my snappings:

We also got 4 geocaches today, all without having a GPS with us!

Back home tomorrow for a relaxing week. We’ll be relaxing by decorating our bedroom. Hmm.

Rowntrees Roulette

The desire when playing Russian Roulette is not to die. You take a revolver with one bullet loaded, spin the chamber, point it at your head and fire. My version is less fatal than this (well, usually).

When buying fruit pastilles we all know that everyone wants primerily red or black pastilles. But you cant see through the packaging, and I’ve noticed they don’t like it when you open each tube and discard them until you find one with a reasonable ratio inside. So the only option is to play ‘Rowntrees Roulette’.

Select a packet at random & hope for the best. if you have more blacks or reds than other colours then you’re a winner. More often than not though you end up faced with a sea of green, yellow and orange.

After a google it seems no-one has applied this rather obvious name already, so it seems I’ve invented it!

Anyway, today’s round went very well indeed:
