Fun Monday

The host for this fun monday is ‘The Dust Will Wait’ and the assignment: “Show me in pictures or tell me in words what defines the place where you live”

I live at the UK’s Southernmost village on the Greenwich Meridian. Right on the cliffs edge is a monument and a paved line to mark where it leaves the country. When I first bought my camera I went down there to christen it.

The monument is hidden away behind some shops & I’m sure most people who pass through have no idea of it’s existence or purpose, but Whenever I think of this place, even before I lived here & we only passed through on our holidays, this is what I think of:

my favorite is the one with what could be a “dove” and the halo of light.
… oh yes, that would be my first stop with my camera should I come to visit.

What a beautiful view. Great photos, love the one with the bird flying. My step son and his family lived in the UK for a year, they loved every minute of it.

I love the picture with the sun shining through the top orb. Very nice. I think I might have visited that area when I was in England (I vaguely remember being told about the Greenwich Meridian – but being that I was 16, it didn’t stick with me!)

A very simple, yet elegant monument. I love the one with the bird.

How fortunate to have such a unique landmark in your “place”. The last photo is “frameworthy.” I’ve only been to England three times–not nearly enough time to even scratch the surface.
