Tiltshifting

Time to try something new, I thought.

There seems to be a little buzz about tilt shifting at the moment, plus I saw this video:

So I thought I’d give it a shot myself.

I’m not skilled enough to do it properly with the camera, but I also didn’t want to just shove my photos though a website processor, so I compromised and did my tiltshifting manually in photoshop.

Here are my first two attempts on photos I took at High & Over while trying to get my vertigo shot for the Tuesday Challenge:

Let me know what you think. I might try my hand at video tiltshifting next.

Birthday Part 4

Monday was my actual birthday, so after a hearty fried breakfast we hopped onto a train headed for London, then walked to the Aquirium:

Tuesday Challenge: Vertigo / Birthday Part 3

Since I’m celebrating my birthday this weekend, we decided not to go to church this week. Instead we had a nice long lay in and then decided to go out and take the photo for this weeks Tuesday Challenge. The theme this week is ‘Vertigo’. We had to be at least 10m above our subject, so naturally we headed off to Beachy Head:

All change

Yes it’s happened again. I got itchy and had to change my website.

I did check and although it doesn’t seem it it’s been around 2 years since I last overhauled the site, so I guess I am technically due a change.

I’ve spent a couple of days working on this look & have learned some new things in the process, so please let me know what you think!

Our church had a fondue evening tonight, so I am full of chocolate now. I also took the opportunity to take photos of people gorging themselves & looking generally silly. I think I’ll pick on Rachel today:

One dark and stormy night…

This evening Sarah and I braved the gale force winds that were terrorising our region.
Normally in the conditions we’d have not bothered & stayed home and watched telly, but this evening we had arranged a meeting in the dark, damp, windy Brighton Marina with people we’d met on the internet.

‘What a splendid idea’ I hear you say.

I’m pleased to report that the people in question were Stu & H who were in the area for a few days. They were very lovely & didn’t try to kill or adbuct us once, which was nice. Though I dread to think what will be written about us in his blog! Despite being blown all over the road on the way home, reaffirming the fact that were we not already out in it we definitely wouldn’t choose to be, we had a really nice evening eating at Franky & Benny’s.

While there I took this week’s tuesday challenge shot which Stu had set, along with this:

Espresso

And of course one of the four of us full of dinner:
