Wales with the Thomsons

Apologies for the flagrant lack of bloggage since the beginning of may. Life got hectic, and I got lethargic. But anyway, here’s a late post about our trip to Wales in April. Full photo album is on flickr.com

It was our second annual holiday with our friends Owen & Lou. Last year they suggested we went to the Lake District, so this year we decided to take them to the cottage we stayed in last time we were in Wales.

We did a fair bit of geocaching while we were there. On one trip we found a ram, who at the time looked like this:

So we did the honourable thing, and help the poor thing back up again:

Among other activities during the week, Owen learned to levitate:

Owen and I bought ourselves each a small radio controlled plane

Which inevitably ended up being retrieved from various places:

We visited the Red Kite feeding station again, but this time armed with a nice lens & some more photography experience. Much better results this time!

After that we did a geocache in the Brecons which took us miles from civilisation. It was great. We continued further up the path toward a second cache just over the peak, but had to abandon part way up due to severe weather.

Most evenings were spent in the hot tub

And most evenings involved wine…

We even did some stargazing from the tub one night, which was awesome. I’m afraid I just enjoyed that rather than photographed it though!

Toward the end of our holiday, we went to Penbury sands where we flew our planes again, tobogganed, and used the amazing sandy beaches for some Kite-boarding.

The girls got sacred and had to get off the toboggan ride:

(Actually the machine broke, so they had to get off & start again, the man had to walk right to the top & bring down the stuck sleds)

Thus endeth the epic adventure of our Welsh holiday.
